Dr. Jacqueline Berens
Was born in Wichita, Kansas but has lived in Colorado from a young age. Dr. Jacqueline knew she wanted to be a Doctor of Chiropractic since she was fifteen when she injured her elbow as an elite gymnast. She was unable to do gymnastics for six months and had tried many doctors and therapies to help her injury and nothing had worked. A teammate suggested trying chiropractic, and she was back to gymnastics in two weeks! Another amazing change happened a few months after she had been under care, she no longer needed glasses. The eye doctor had told her that her vision was barely off, but she kept getting terrible headaches in school so she was given a mild set of eye glasses. She no longer had any headaches and her vision was back to normal after getting adjusted regularly. From these experiences, she knew she wanted to share the same life changing, natural, holistic healthcare with others. Dr. Jacqueline graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor’s in Physiology in 2008, and graduated with honors from Life University with a Doctor of Chiropractic in late 2011.
Dr. Jacqueline is very passionate about chiropractic and has focused on family health, nutrition, fitness, sports, pediatric chiropractic, pregnancy and more

Paul is a Colorado Native and has resided in Colorado his whole life. When Paul was a toddler he was severely burned by a hot pot of coffee from climbing on a counter and underwent treatment with the children’s burn center in Denver. Fortunately, he only remembers the firefighters assisting him during this unfortunate event. As soon as he was able, he began his academics in fire science while still in high school. He then went on to become a firefighter. Paul spent 14 years working for various fire departments in the metro area as a Firefighter, Fire Officer and an Arson Investigator. In 2017 Paul left behind his career in the fire service to ensure he could live a healthy holistic life style free from toxins and the politics that working at the fire department promotes. He now is able spend more time with his family and assists Dr. Jacqueline by managing the operations for the wellness center. Paul has always been proactive when it comes to health and loves to play an important role in helping the patients of the wellness center lead a healthy lifestyle.
I disagreed that you just have to live with allergies and recurring sinus infections! Runny noses, stuffy noses, sneezing, loss of smell, loss of taste, sinus pressure, frequent sinus infections and debilitating sinus headaches are all a response from your body letting you know something is up!
I suffered from all of this for over 13 years!! I initially took the conventional medical approach and had 3 sinus surgeries that didn’t fix the CAUSE of my issues! I was fed up and depressed.
It wasn’t until I found the wellness way approach that I got tested and found the root cause, healed my immune system and my gut! Now these “allergies” are a thing of the past and I got my smell back!

Cindy is a Colorado Native through and through. Growing up in Lakewood, CO gave Cindy the chance to stay close to family and friends. As she was on her way to graduate high school, she was unsure what she wanted to do, but after seeing family members struggle with illnesses and discomfort for years and the medical system not always providing the answers to all the problems, she knew she wanted to do and learn something more. Cindy decided to attend the Denver School of Massage Therapy in hopes to not only find a rewarding career in helping others but also to find some of those answers that are hidden in a different approach to medicine and well-being. Cindy spent the next 12 years as licensed massage therapist, owning her own busines, working with multiple chiropractic offices, as well as working with all major sports teams here in Denver. Cindy truly found her passion in helping athletes working with current and former players of the Broncos, Rockies, Avalanche, and sometimes helping out with the visiting teams.
Cindy is extremely excited to be joining the team as Front Desk Associate and can’t wait to learn from Dr. J and Paul. After struggling for many years with many food allergies including but not limited to being gluten free, not by choice she really misses those good pizzas, and many years of body aches, migraines, and many other rough days she can truly relate and speak to all our patients as they walk in the door or give us a call. Cindy brings a breath of fresh air to the office with her excitement to learn as well as provide top notch care to all our patients. Cindy has also been able to take part in our food test as well as her 4-year-old son and they both could not be happier with their new found healthier way of life. Cindy may be the “new girl” but she already feels at home and can’t wait to speak with you and start you on your path to a new and healthy life!

Anywhere from 30 minutes to two (2) hours depending on the patient. This allows for a thorough review of your history; a physical examination; and any lab testing deemed necessary. We also allow ample time for you to ask questions.
Yes. Most new patient evaluations involve several doctors and/or nurses.
Some of the charges may be billable to insurance. Exams, x-rays, and chiropractic manipulations (aka adjustments) are billable to insurance but coverage depends on your individual policy. It is the patient’s responsibility to contact their insurance company to verify what chiropractic coverage is in place (in-network or out-of-network depending upon which insurance company you have coverage with).
Functional medicine or nutrition services are not billable to insurance at this time.
Lab work results are very important and will typically assist the doctor in determining the plan of care. If prior lab work has not been completed, our doctors may recommend lab testing at your first appointment. This typically involves blood work or test kits.
Several lab companies offer insurance billing and others are cash only. If insurance billing IS available, the lab company will bill the lab to insurance, but it will be your responsibly to check your insurance coverage. If labs are necessary, additional testing and billing options will be discussed at the time the patient receives the lab.
Most patients with nutritional health concerns will have supplements recommended. Each supplement is chosen for the patient for a specific reason based upon the symptoms described to the doctor, as well as the results of any lab testing. The doctor will get into further details about the supplements ordered for you at your second appointment.
The intent is always for the patient to eventually lessen the number and/or dosage of supplements, but the timeline for this is different for each patient and is based upon the improvement of the patient’s condition over time. Often improvements are seen by 3-6 months and again at 9-12 months, however, results may take longer if patient fails to implement the dietary recommendations.
Due to Quality control, all Supplements are non refundable.
After we receive your test results, we will call you to set up your next appointment. At this appointment, the doctor will go over your test results, your plan of care, and give you an estimate for length of care.
The billing department will meet with you to discuss financial aspects and discounted plans. Plans range from $900 to $2,500. Follow up appointments will be scheduled. These may include, but are not limited to, follow ups with the doctor, chiropractic adjustments, and dietary consultations.
Based on your signs and symptoms, X-rays may need to be completed as well as orthopedic testing. After the first few appointments, you will receive a doctor’s report. The doctor’s report will include information about your x-rays and a recommended plan of care. Adjustments will begin within the first few appointments. At this point, if you would like, you can speak with a member of our billing department about chiropractic care plans.
